WCAG Colour Contrast Accessibility Checker
Check text and background colour contrast against WCAG 2.2 AA and AAA contrast thresholds.
WCAG Colour Contrast Accessibility Checker: what to know
WCAG 2.2’s commonly used contrast requirements are 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Many essential user-interface elements also need 3:1 non-text contrast. The stricter AAA text values are 7:1 and 4.5:1.
These checks use sRGB relative luminance. Check disabled states, focus indicators, icons, backgrounds with transparency and actual font weights separately. See the W3C explanation.
Does this tool send my inputs to a server?
No. Tool calculations and editing run locally in your browser, without an account or an application backend. The separate Google Analytics script may load as disclosed in our privacy policy.
Are results a substitute for a platform or professional review?
No. Passing a ratio does not mean the website as a whole conforms to WCAG. Real accessibility also involves keyboard navigation, semantics, motion, zoom and assistive technology.
